Goodwill Hiking- A Day To Climb And Cle will be taking place on July 31st at Karnala Fort.
White Collar Hippie brings you incredible offbeat travel and outdoor experiences. They want to be humbled and transformed by the journeys they embark on. And they want you to go along with them!
It's July! And mid monsoons, what a perfect time to put on your trekking shoes and go exploring the lushness of the beautiful Sahyadris!
White Collar Hippie looks at taking activities a step above the usual; and this time they will be doing so by hiking in the rains and at the same time reversing some of the damage done to the environment to the best of their ability. On this trek, they are taking the initiative by cleaning up the trail once they embark on it.
So join in on this super exciting climb and clean trek through the beautiful hills around Mumbai!
The second trek of the series will be to Karnala Fort, which is a bird sanctuary in the rugged mountains ofWestern GhatsinIndia. On the way up to the fort, they will be taking a slightly adventurous route through the lush forest. To make the most of this trail, a naturalist will help us spot various species of birds that this forest protects. Encouraged by the experience of their first hike at Rajmachi and observing the impact that a group of people can make by picking up small
pieces of trash, they will similarly clean up this trail too as they descend through a simpler route.
Spend a day in the Sahyadris, as they indulge in its lushness and adventure. Enjoy the
freshly cooked organic meals prepared by their hosts that come straight from their hearts and
homes

What's in it that makes it different from all the other treks that are happening?
1. Clean Up Drives - throughout the trek, as you bask in the glory of mother nature, wash off the grime and grit of the everyday city life, everyone will collect the trash on the way as a humble exchange for the soul cleansing and rejuvenation that the hills provides us with.
2. Contributing To The Local Economy - During the trek, some of the local hosts will help as guides and just all around knowledge boosters (as they say, the best kept secrets of a place are known only to the locals!). Apart from this, they will be cooking fresh organic meals that come straight from their very own kitchens. What better way of spreading love and feelings of communal harmony than by sharing meals!
3. Another opportunity you will be seizing is one that fits with the philosophy, and they are sure, it fits yours too! They will share part of their proceeds to an educational initiative in the host village, as just another way of giving thanks for the hospitality, love and time that they will be offering.
4. Moreover, participants are further encouraged to contribute stuff like art supplies, old clothes, stationery and household items like quilts, bed sheets, umbrellas (since it is monsoon), etc. to the members of the host village.
What better way to spend a day in this season than living it to the fullest with things that make your soul happy: friends, nature, food and lots of adventure!
