World Music Day | Celebration of Music

World Music Day is an annual celebration of music around the world which is happening every year on June 21st. It was begun in 1982 in Paris. This is also known as the Fête de la Musique or Make Music Day which is now celebrated more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. The idea behind the World Music Day was French Minister of Culture Jack Lang.

On World Music Day, so many genres, so many precious musicians perform at streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers.

It is typically different from a music festival, different countries opt different themes for creating awareness among the public, like environment protection, war or a global cause, political biases, etc. Since India is land of variety of music like classical music, folk music, filimi, Indian rock, and Indian Pop.

The music will live on not just on World Music Day, but always! Music is an attitude, a religion, a passion, a cure, strength and is always in the brewing for newer tomorrows…! Period!!
