Workshop : Tango By Eduardo & Kiran Sawhney - Indiaeve.com


WORKSHOP : Tango (Basic & intermediate level) by Eduardo & Kiran Sawhney at Instituto Cervantes,Delhi on 4th May to 2nd July 2016.

Tango is a traditional dance of Argentina and Uruguay, born of cultural fusion between European immigrants (Spanish and Italian, mainly), descendants of African slaves, and natives of the region of the Rio de la Plata. Musically is mainly binary (theme and chorus) or ternary (two parts to which is added a trio). Many of the lyrics of their songs are written on a local slang called lunfardo, and the lyrics often express sadness, especially regarding of the matter of love felt by men and women, without that hindering the treatment of other issues, even humorous and political.

Basic level:
- Dates: 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, May, 4, 5, 11, 12, 19, 25 ,26 June, 2 July.
- Time: Saturdays & Sundays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
- No previous knowledge of Spanish is needed. Lessons will be taught in English and
Spanish
- Enrollment fee: 4.000 INR

Internediate level:
- Workshop for improving and practicing the elements of tango, for those dancers who
already have knowledge or have been initiated in the practice of tango. Provide the
dancer the information, structures and attitudes necessary to perform comfortably the
social dance called "Salon Tango". Contents: steps, walk, posture, embrace, structures
(basic, drawn, enrosques, pencils, etc.), musicality, orchestras, choreography, tango
exhibition or performance on the stage
- Dates: 4, 11, 18, 25 May, 1, 8, 15, 22 June.
- Time: Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
- No previous knowledge of Spanish is needed. Lessons will be taught in English and
Spanish
- Enrollment fee: 4.500 INR till Wednesday 20th

- Previous knowledge is requiered 

Teachers: 

Eduardo lived for four years in Argentina (2002-2006), where he learned tango in group classes as well as tutorials with several teachers, in different schools and milongas in Buenos Aires.

Kiran Sawhney, first professionally trained Tango teacher in Delhi/India. She learnt from the best Tango teachers in the world and studied (Tango teacher training program) and apprenticed with master teacher, Daniel Trenner, who is pioneer for bringing Tango to US and has trained some of World's best Tango teachers.
