Amyt Datta, who commands a sort of demigod status with guitar fans across the country, is widely acknowledged to be one of the most innovative guitarists in India, playing Rock, Jazz, Blues and Experimental.

This time at BFlat,

Amyt Datta presents a new project featuring three young musicians from the local Kolkata scene. For lack of a better term, 'jazz-rock' with a slight hint of 'Indianism'...is closest to describing their music. In Amyt's words, 'It is sometimes high voltage, sometimes serene'.

Amyt Datta has drawn inspiration from the sum total of his experience gained from playing many different styles of music over twenty odd years. Gradually, the philosophy of 'One World' music became part of his thought process. The attitude of rock, the sophistication of jazz, the romance of Spanish, the divinity of Indian moods can be heard in Datta's music.

The early set will be performed by Groovemeister, a young, new contemporary jazz, instrumental quartet from Bangalore.

A must watch for music lovers - particularly guitar and jazz enthusiasts.
