The day June 21 is known as International Day of Yoga or World Yoga Day which is every year across the world to raise global awareness about yoga among the public. The idea behind the International Yoga Day is our present Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 September 2014, through his speech on the United Nations General Assembly. Soon, the UN declared June 21 as International Yoga Day who officially declared as ‘International Day of Yoga’. In India, International Yoga Day is celebrated by the Ministry of “AYUSH”. The first International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21 st June 2015 and theme was “Yoga for Harmony and Peace”. The Ministry of “AYUSH” has declared the theme of this year as “Yoga for Heart“ .
