India’s largest contemporary art exhibition, Kochi-Muziris Biennale which is held on every two years in Fort Kochi, Kerala. This art festival is conducting by Kochi Biennale Foundation with the support from the Government of Kerala.  The exhibition is held on the heart of Fort Kochi of existing galleries, halls, public spaces, and heritage buildings of Kochi. Sonepur Mela / Kshetra Mela is one of the biggest cattle fairs in Asia which held in Bihar. This long fair conducts annually on Kartik Poornima (November) at the confluence of Ganga, Gandak and Mahi rivers whose origin from ancient history.   The Sonepur fair is the major attraction for foreign tourists from all over Asia which features around 5,000 stalls. On this special occasion, elephants are beautifully decorated which is the major sight of the fair. The end of the British colonial rule, Indians gained freedom in 1947.  It leads to a creation of two independent states - Hindu-majority India and Muslim-majority Pakistan. The Nehru Trophy boat race, we can undoubtedly say which is the famous tourist attraction in Kerala. This race is usually conducted on the second Saturday of August for the memory of our Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The first snake boat race was held in 1952 when the Prime Minister has visited Alleppey. He was so impressed and excited with the welcome and the boat race, so he donated a trophy. The race is continuing on ever since. Around 70 boats usually participate and compete to win the race. This boat race is held at Punnamada Lake, Alleppey.
